Birthday open day!

On Saturday, 4 November, Community Toolbox Canberra will celebrate its second birthday with an open day.

The Toolbox, Canberra’s first tool and equipment library, opened its doors in November 2021. Since then, we’ve sent out 4,000 loans to 500 members for all sorts of projects and adventures.

Most of the items have been donated by the community. Convenor Kathy Ehmann said, “We’ve taken unused tools and equipment that had been languishing in garages and cupboards and put them in the hands of the community.

“We’re helping Canberrans save money, save space and learn new skills. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, so we love that we can help people reduce their consumption and participate in the circular economy.”

We will be open on Saturday 4 November for extended borrowing and to show people around. Tool experts will be on hand to give advice and demonstrate safe use of Toolbox equipment.
