The tools are on the road!

For four years, the Toolbox has been lending hundreds of items from our base in Watson.

Now, it’s time to grow!

The ToolBus launched in October 2025 and will scale to match demand and volunteers.

This will give more Canberrans access to equipment they only need a few times a year – like lawnmowers, sewing machines, power tools and kayaks.

Supporters can join here. If the current route does not work for you, you can purchase a pre-paid ‘Tool Bus’ option for $99, and your membership will commence on the date of your first loan.

If you are ready to borrow now, you can select regular, concession or access.

Members use our existing online platform to reserve items and nominate the Watson site or ToolBus stop for pickup. Drop off can be at any scheduled location (or the Watson site). Our existing rules and procedures apply. You can find more information by exploring this website.

Stop schedule (Saturdays only)
Minns Place, Weston 10am-11am
Fadden Pines, Fadden (carpark entrance between Castleton & Coyne streets) 11:30am-12:30pm
Lennox Crossing (childcare centre car park - formerly the Canberra Environment Centre), ANU 1:00pm-2:00pm

Deadline for ToolBus reservations is 9am on the day. These stops might change as we respond to volunteer availability and member needs.
